Weaning and potty training

We started weaning Minnie last week. She's enthusiastic, but her tummy still needs to get used to it...

And you've been learning to use the potty. No nappies (except overnight) since last week. You've had a few accidents, but you're learning fast!

Family Swimming

Today Minnie went swimming for the first time, and we all went along!

She did very well, staying in for about 40 minutes and having a lovely time chasing her red ball.  Daddy then took her out so we could stay in and play.

You are also getting very brave in the pool, even jumping from the edge all by yourself!

Penny's Special Story

Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Penelope.

One day, her parents told her that they'd sold their beloved flat. Now Penelope had nowhere to live!

She went for a walk, looking for somewhere to live.

She saw a tree. "Maybe I could live in a tree," she said. She climbed the tree and rested her head on a branch.

But it wasn't very comfortable, and she was afraid of falling off. She climbed down. "I can't live in a tree!"

She kept on walking, looking for somewhere else to live.

She saw a car. "That will be safer and more comfortable than a tree," she said. She got into the car and sat in the driver's seat.

But there was no space to run and play. She got terribly bored. She got out. "I can't live in a car!"

She kept on walking, looking for somewhere else to live.

She saw a shop. "There's lots of space to run and play in there," she said. She went inside.

But there were so many people coming in and out all the time, bumping into her and tripping over her. "I can't live in a shop!"

She kept on walking, looking for somewhere else to live.

She saw a park. "The park is a bit quieter, and it has a playground!" she said. She rested her head on the grass.

But then it started to rain! She was wet and miserable. She went to her parents and asked, "Where can we live?"

"We have an idea," they said. "What about this lovely cottage?"

The cottage was safe and comfortable, it had a garden to run and play in, and Penelope had her own bedroom, and a playroom to share with her little sister. It was perfect!

And they lived there happily ever after.

I told you that story to prepare you for our impending house move. It's your new favourite story - you keep requesting it, and you like to say parts of it along with me!
